WOA [ˈwôdər ] • noun
WOA is an installation that confronts humans and the underwater world. As humans we want to exert too much influence, but is this always for the good? Our so-called innocent actions have major consequences for the future. Such as taking a piece of coral or touching a sea animal, without immediately seeing the consequences. The first step you take in the installation is on a path created by humans. On this path you will find jellyfishes that you cannot avoid. Do you disturb the jellyfish or leave them alone? Your presence influences the tranquility of the underwater world, which is reflected on the screens. Depending on the patience and attention of the visitor, the experiences will differ.
This is a interactive spatial installation through movement, presence and visualization with the use of a presence sensor, motion sensor and mixed media.
